South Carolina based VMS program launches new Office Hours program

The Rock Hill Venture Mentoring Service (VMS) launched the addition of "Office Hours" to its ventures on March 1, 2022. The added programming provides ventures with free, confidential, one-on-one consultations with legal and human resource professionals.

In coming months, the program will expand to also include consultations with marketing and accounting professionals.

Rock Hill VMS was awarded a Relentless Challenge Grant from the South Carolina Department of Commerce to fund the development of innovative scheduling technology needed to connect the professional service providers and the ventures/founders.

The technology, being developed by Traction5, is also the software company Rock Hill VMS uses for its mentoring program. Once complete, the VMS mentoring software and the Office Hours scheduling application will interface for optimized efficiencies and data collection.

"We are thankful to the SC Department of Commerce for providing this grant funding needed to scale our existing Traction5 technology," said Hannah Horne, Executive Officer of the Gravity Center. "Most entrepreneurial service organizations, like ours, have limited staff to coordinate programs and connect everyone's schedules. Scaling technology will allow us to work smarter for our ventures and provide even more resources to grow their businesses."

In the first week of launching Rock Hill VMS' Office Hours, the program logged 4 volunteer professional hours, assisting 5 founders who are all women and/or minority owned businesses.
